The week of April 15-22
Having a bicycle again is a wonderful experience. I had forgotten the joy of gliding down the street, the breeze around you, the exercise it provides. Sonoma is so made for the bike. Flat and laid out in a marvelous grid put in place by the great General Vallejo himself. For us locals there are numerous short cuts and hidden paths that let you see the serious amount of nature in our city. Bike paths make life easy and if you are aware of your manners cars, pedestrians, animals and other creatures on the road make sharing the space easy. With everything blooming it’s also easy to just stop and smell and soak it in. Stay tuned for upcoming City Council discussions on our bike plans!
I would like to clarify my comments about my meeting with Personal Trainer E.A. When discussing this with my editor, I saw how my writing lacked the skill to offer a truer rendition of my experience. In the short and concise way the editor speaks to me she said that I was basically a “slug.” And she is right. I had a slug’s reaction to being disturbed. I had a slug’s reaction to the gentle push for physical effort that E.A. had asked of me. I don’t want to be a physical slug for the rest of my life and hopefully E.A. will take a kind look at my willingness to change. I will let all you dear readers know.
Film Festival Weekend. Was it my birthday again? Is there such a thing as a Déjà vu birthday? Holding to the 80/20 percent rule was virtually impossible and I did not succeed in maintaining it. I did however maintain a 50/50 percent and I was justly proud of that. The entire festival was awesome and the staff, volunteers and our friendly citizens delivered big time. I must include that the backdrop of the Plaza and our beautiful, clean, city is due in great part by the hard work our city staff and council. Lets make sure we keep it this way.

Finally many folks are curious how my wife reacted to my comments about what is or is not on my diet. She thought it was hysterically funny and honest and enjoys seeing the lighter side of me come out. I agree.
