KSVY 91.3 Sonoma and the Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival are excited to bring you the third annual Bottle & Glass Dash, a wacky relay race for teams of two down a Sonoma Plaza block. The race kicks off with contestants opening a bottle of wine and filling six glasses, which they carry on a tray through an outrageous obstacle course. Contestants will face the “Wine Barrel Weave,” and the “Tires ‘em Tire Tromp,” among other spill-inducing obstacles put in the way to keep them from finishing the race with their glasses full. Hula-hoops and beach balls will play an important role in this spirited event, sure to be a thrill for spectators and participants alike. Winners will be determined by fastest time and most wine remaining in their glasses.
The Bottle & Glass Dash will be held at the Vintage Festival on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 1:30 p.m. at the Sonoma Plaza, at the corner of Spain Street and First Street East. To register, pick up an application at the KSVY Ticket Office, 158 W. Napa St., Sonoma. Participants can also register at the event. Teams of two are encouraged to apply, however singles are welcome and will be paired up at race time. Anyone aged 14 and up may race, racers between the ages of 14 and 21 will race with grape juice rather than wine. Registration fee is $25 per team. Proceeds benefit Vineyard Workers Services and Native Sons of the Golden West.
