The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley has announced the addition of August Sebastiani to its board of directors.
“Aug has been a driving force on our Teen Task Force over the last two years as well as consistently supporting the cub in all its initiatives,” said Larry Krieger, board president. “We are thrilled that he has decided to join our board, and we look forward to his further participation.”
The president of The Other Guys wine company, Sebastiani is also Mayor Pro Tem of the City of Sonoma. He was elected to a four-year term on the City Council in 2006.
Sebastiani was born and raised in Sonoma. He graduated from Justin Siena
High School in Napa and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Santa Clara University.
In 2004, he joined his father and older brother at Don Sebastiani & Sons as
Managing Director of the then fledgling TOG division, where he worked in market and brand management, chain management and wholesale distribution.
This year, TOG became a separate, independently operated wine company with Sebastiani at the helm.
Sebastiani becomes the 12th member of the club board, joining current members: Lars Asbjornsen; Joe Capriola; Deborah Emery; Keith Hughes; Leslie Blankenship; Marchelle Carleton; Lisa Cavalli; Justin Frese; Erik Garcia; Fred Schwartz; and Krieger.
The board members are volunteers who oversee Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley’s mission, purpose and policies; ensure financial solvency; and set an example of generous financial support.
