Staff Report
The Jerry Casson Multipurpose Senior Center, popularly known as Vintage House, will host its 12th annual Holiday Magic celebration on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 5 p.m. Holiday Magic, the major fundraiser for Vintage House, will offer dozens of silent and live-auction items in a festive atmosphere. This year’s gourmet dinner, prepared by Wild Thyme Catering, will start with hors d’oeuvres with champagne, followed by a three-course meal served with award-winning wines. The Valley Girls will entertain during the live auction, followed by the John Simon Quartet, playing after-dinner dance music. Stone Hall and the hallways and side rooms of Vintage House will be transformed into a holiday wonderland complete with Santa Clauses, floating stars and other heavenly special effects.
The “House with a Heart,” as Vintage House is affectionately known by its friends and supporters, offers numerous opportunities for fulfilling its mission to “enhance dignity, promote well-being and independence, and encourage involvement in community life.” A typical day’s activities can feature over twenty different events, including morning exercises, Spanish and French, line dancing, supervised bridge, watercolor lessons, hearing assessments, Tai Chi, a blood pressure clinic, the senior lunch program, the Vintage vision program, a memoir writing class and more. All these programs are supported by the proceeds from Holiday Magic.
Holiday Magic 2007 is open to the public – everyone is invited to get a glimpse of the countless ways Vintage House serves our community. Cost for the evening’s festivities is $125. Reservations can be made by calling 707.996.0311 or visiting Vintage House at 264 First St. E. For more information, or to view the live auction lots for Holiday Magic, go to www.vintagehouse.org
