At 11:58 a.m., police got a call from Sonoma Rentals, on Highway 12, that someone had just shot out the passenger window of an employee’s 1988 black Cadillac Seville. Then as the employee watched, the suspect, driving a white Chevy Tahoe with tinted windows and 22-inch rims, drove back to the Cadillac, got out and shot the driver’s window, then jumped back in his car and drove away.
The employee recognized the suspect as the father of his ex-girlfriend’s 18-month-old baby and instructed police as to where they might find him. Police proceeded to the address in the 700 block of Verano Avenue, where they found the suspect, the woman and two children. A search of the house uncovered a BB gun, which police believe is the weapon used in the shooting.
Deputies charged the suspect, a 21-year old resident from Chicago, with two counts of vandalism over $400, which is a felony, because the suspect did the shooting twice. “It wasn’t boom-boom, but boom, wait a minute, then come back and shoot again,” said police. According to police, the woman, who had had the suspect arrested the previous week for domestic violence, yelled, “I’ve had it with this idiot,” as they took him away.
