The Midsummer Mozart Festival welcomes pianist Jon Nakamatsu for a July 16 evening concert at Gundlach Bundschu Winery.
A soloist of international renown — he broke on the classical scene by winning the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 1997 – Nakamatsu will perform the Coronation Concerto, the overture to “Idomendo” and Symphony No. 36 “Linz.”
Joining the orchestra, conducted by George Cleve, will be soprano Christine Major.
The 6 p.m. outdoor concert is part of the only music festival in North America dedicated exclusively to Mozart. On July 23, the program will feature Mark Brandenburg with the Clarinet Concerto. $30-$60. 415.627.9141. Midsummermozart.org.
