Born August 21, 1946 Died September 1, 2011.
Roger Dailey was born in Westminster, CA, to Lloyd and Edna Dailey where he lived until 1971 then he moved to Sonoma, CA and remained until 1993. In Sonoma, Roger owned and operated Dailey Floors with his wife, at that time, Peggy Dailey. Roger met so many wonderful people in Sonoma and made lifelong friends during this time. In addition he continued to maintain his friendship with those he held dear to his heart that remained in Southern CA. In January 1996 he married Rene Wineland and they moved to Monterey Bay, CA, then to Arizona and finally to Maui, HI where they opened Aloha Cowboy, a western store in Makawao.
Roger loved being married to Rene and living on Maui with her. During their marriage they were able to travel for business and pleasure to many places. Aloha Cowboy gave him the privilege of learning a new industry, meeting wonderful people and to live on an amazing island.
Roger was well known for his custom wood working; he made cabinets, tables, display cases and so much more. He also enjoyed carpentry work and remodeled several homes including making his 800 square foot home in HI into a 3500 square foot home which became his “castle”.
Roger passed away with the love of his life, Rene and her brother Don (Tera) Wineland and Roger’s best friend Mike Perry of Sonoma all by his side in Maui. Additionally, Roger was loved by many people, including but not limited to: his children Charlie Dailey and Shawn (Dailey) Hanlon; and their families, Shannon Dailey, Robert Hanlon, grandchildren Cameron and Olivia Dailey and Justin and Alison Hanlon; his sister Barbara (Dale) Cammack; his cousin Melton (Joanne) Weber, his best friend Mike (Nancy) Perry and many more.
Roger asked that we have a celebration of life party in lieu of a service or funeral which will be held in Makawao HI on Sunday September 25, 2011. If you would like more information in regards to this or wish to share stories or photos with us, please contact Rene Wineland at alohacowboymaui@aol.com or shawn.hanlon@comcast.net or charlie.d65@att.net.
