Earl Harvey Kenitz passed away Friday, May 9 at his family home in Sonoma, California. Previously a thirty-one year resident of the Sonoma Valley, Earl and his wife Leda moved to Oregon in 2003 , to enjoy retirement on the Rogue River. Shortly thereafter, Leda, his beloved wife of 42 years, passed away. Earl is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Dunn and Melissa Kenitz, both of Sonoma, by his three beloved grandchildren Austin, True and Alexandra Dunn, his son-in-law Sean Dunn, his aunt Roxanne Kenitz of Chicago and his sisters Geraldine Dimmitt of Chicago and Arlene Kratz of San Diego.
A 42-year employee of Packard Bio Science, Earl was consistently recognized as Salesman of the Year, a member of the Packard Presidents Club and received numerous awards throughout his career. He will forever be remembered for his kind and generous spirit, for his easy smile and most importantly, for his unfailing selflessness and dedicated love of family. He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
A memorial service, celebrating his life, will be held Wednesday, May 21 at 2 pm at Duggan’s Mission Chapel in Sonoma. Gifts in his memory may be made to Hospice by the Bay, 190 West Napa St., Sonoma CA 95476.
James J. Strong, 60, passed away peacefully at home in Sonoma on May 3, 2008. James was born in San Francisco to Henry and Adrian Strong. He was a police officer for the San Francisco Police Department for 17 years. He was a 15-year resident of Sonoma and he loved his dogs. He is survived by his beloved brother Tom Strong and his family.
A funeral service was held on May 13 at Duggan’s Mission Chapel, 525 W. Napa St., Sonoma. Burial was at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Colma.
