Sonoma Valley Chorale presents ‘Thank You for the Music’

The Sonoma Valley Chorale concludes its 35th anniversary season with the spring concert “Thank You for the Music: Celebrating 35 years Together!” on Saturday, May 17, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, May 18, at 2 p.m. at the Sonoma Veterans Memorial Building. The acclaimed chorus will celebrate 35 years of providing music to the Sonoma Valley.
This concert will honor the founding director of the chorale, Jim Griewe. It will be his last concert for the Sonoma Valley Chorale after 34 years of leading the group across over three decades and seven countries.
The concert will focus on some of the chorale’s favorite composers, from Mozart to Copland, to rousing spirituals and popular selections including “West Side Story” and “Guys and Dolls.” “A Blast from the Past” will highlight Jo Anne Connor’s amazing ability to transform her piano into a symphony orchestra, while the SVC Jazz Band adds a little to get people movin’ and groovin’. There will be a champagne reception afterwards.
General seating tickets are available at the UPS Store and Pharmaca. Ticket prices are $15 ($12 for seniors/students, $10 for children under 12). To order reserved seating tickets, call 707.935.1576. Reserved ticket prices are $18, $14 and $10, respectively.
