Sonoma Valley High School graduate Tashi Jangbu Sherpa, 17, gets the keys to his first car, courtesy of Dan Roseland of Sonoma Chevrolet. Roseland has donated a clean used car to a raffle at the annual Grad Night Party – the safe and sober celebration held on campus – for seven years, continuing a tradition established by Bob Nobles.
The teen said it took a moment for the 6 a.m. announcement to sink in, but now he’s overwhelmed by getting his first new car, a Saturn Ion. He said no summer road trips are planned… yet.
