Sonoma Valley Chorale prepares for new season

The Sonoma Valley Chorale will begin its 2008- 2009 season with “A Magnificent Christmas,” featuring the Chorale, soloists and orchestra performing the “Magnificat” of Giovanni Pergolesi on Dec. 13 and 14.

The Sonoma Valley Chorale is happy to present the performance schedule for the 2008-2009 season. This year the season will begin with “A Magnificent Christmas,” featuring the Chorale, soloists and orchestra performing the “Magnificat” of Giovanni Pergolesi on Dec. 13 and 14. The Chorale will also perform pieces by Rachmaninoff, Britten, Vaughan Williams and Cesar Cul as well as traditional sounds of the season from the likes of Gene Autry, Paul McCartney and Mel Tormé. “A Magnificent Christmas” will also feature special guests, The Festival Bells from St. Andrew Church.
The season will continue with “How the West Was Sung!”, a wonderful and varied tapestry exploring western American music, on March 7 and 8 and finish with “Reel Music,” a performance of choral music from the silver screen, on May 30 and 31.
