Food booths, vendors, a kids arcade, live music, a community quilt and a parade longer than the town itself? It takes a village. Charm and tradition marked the 25th annual Glen Ellen Village Fair on Sunday, October 11.
The theme “Glen Aliens” inspired the ‘cosmic couture’ dress code, while a team of Grand Marshals, who have served previously during event’s long history, lead the procession behind a Boy Scout honor guard team.
With the highway closed, vendors stretched from Warm Springs Road, over the bridge, to London Ranch Road. Live music in the outdoor hay bale stage came from Solcats, Dan Martin, Nomarocksteady, and T-Luke & the Tight Suits.
As for the previous Grand Marshalls invited back, producer Leslie Vaugn explained, “Unfortunately a few have passed away and though they will be absent from our parade they will not be forgotten. We have some that just live too far away or have other commitments, however, I am thrilled to say that most of the 24 years will be represented either by the actual grand people themselves, or a family member!”
