Obituaries

Ernest LambertErnest Lambert passed away on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008 in Sonoma. He was 88. He was a native of Effingham, S.C. and a longtime resident of Sonoma.
He was the loving husband of the late Marion Lambert and the loving father of Dan Lambert of Arizona and Bill Lambert (Jan) and Donald Lambert, both of Sonoma. He was the loving grandfather of Sean Lambert of Arizona and the loving brother of Mary Hudson of South Carolina and Eleanor Cain of Florida.
Ernie was born on June 21, 1920 and joined the U.S. Navy in 1938. He met his late wife of 60 years in San Francisco shortly after his discharge from the Navy. He attended a trade school to become a jeweler. He and Marion moved to Sonoma in 1955 and owned and operated Lambert’s Jewelry store until his retirement in 1985. Lambert’s Jewelry Store was a well-known and established family business for all those years. An avid golfer, he played the game into his 70s.
Friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life at Duggan’s Mission Chapel, 525 W. Napa St., Sonoma, on Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 6:30 p.m.
