New Year’s at Meritage

Meritage Martini Oyster Bar & Grill hosted the Jami Jamison band on New Year’s Eve, featuring Dennis Cordellos, Keith Ridenhour and Terry Domingue, for an evening of dancing and celebration. Meritage served a special six-course tasting menu featuring everything from Hog Island oysters with champagne mignonette to crispy polenta with braised wild boar and Gorgonzola sauce.
Christmas Bird Count

The fourth annual “Audubon Christmas Bird Count” took place across the Valley on Friday, Jan. 2. Participants met at the Sonoma Community Center, departing from the SCC for their hand-picked birding area where they completed a day-long census. The day ended with a potluck tabulation dinner where participants were able to share their experiences from the day and meet fellow bird lovers.
Three Kings Day

On Sunday, Jan. 4 locals and tourists alike gathered at Gloria Ferrer Winery to enjoy a performance of the Epiphany and to celebrate the Spanish tradition of “El Dia de Los Reyes Magos,” or “Three Kings Day.” Spanish holiday treats and sparkling wines were served to complete the family-friendly festivities.
