Customers at Sonoma Beauty Supply & Tanning Salon, located in the Sonoma Marketplace Shopping Center, are seeing numerous changes in the shop, starting with a new owner and a team of new employees.
Sonoma businesswoman Lillian Meyers, owner of Meyers Financial, recently purchased Sonoma Beauty Supply & Tanning Salon. The shop’s new manager is cosmetologist Elizabeth Meyers.
“What compelled me to acquire the store was that Sonoma Beauty Supply is not a chain or franchise. I viewed the acquisition as a way to preserve a locally owned and operated business,” Lillian Meyers said.
Elizabeth had rented space in the salon from the previous owner for the last 6 years. She has been a licensed cosmetologist for 17 years. She will continue to provide salon services at the store, in addition to acting as the store’s manager. Sonoma Beauty Supply has eight employees who range from teenagers to senior citizens. “This diversity helps us understand what products are attractive to every age group. We want our services and merchandise to benefit customers of all ages,” Lillian said.
New services soon to be provided include a UV-free tanning booth and a hydration station. A UV-free tan is the popular method of spray tanning. A hydration station is a device the client lies in before entering a tanning bed. It prepares the skin for the tanning process to protect it from drying and creates a darker tan.
• Sonoma Beauty Supply & Tanning Salon is located next to Longs Drugs and is open seven days a week. For more information, call 707.996.5252.
