Future funding for young farmers

Dawson McCahon, Savannah Schell, Sofia Willliams, and Andrea Robledo Cervantes are finalists for the second annual HWY 12 Properties Scholarship program for college-bound Sonoma Valley High School FFA (Future Farmers of America) members.

The finalists, who plan to pursue a degree in agriculture at a 2-year or 4-year college beginning this fall, recently visited the farms and affiliated businesses of the H12P FFA Scholarship Advisory Board: Rich Andreotti of Circle JR Ranch; Sondra Bernstein, girl & the fig; Andrea Davis-Cetina, Quarter Acre Farm; Andrew Mariani, SCRIBE Winery, and Sam Mogannam, Bi-Rite Family of Businesses.

The finalists will be judged on an essay about the outing, and the the Board members’ experience with the students during the field trip.
