Stress management is a crucial skill to master during these times of financial crisis and world change. Research has well established the use of meditation as an essential tool in stress reduction. Meditation causes no negative side effects and once mastered, is free and always available. Rochelle Pratima Freeman is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Sonoma who has been teaching meditation and stress reduction for many years. She has a private practice in Sonoma and also works as a bereavement counselor for Hospice by the Bay. Freeman will offer a one-hour presentation on the philosophy of meditative traditions and will offer resources for learning meditation techniques on Monday, March 2, from 7 to 8 p.m. Participants will have an opportunity to learn about several different forms of meditation and to discover which best fits their lifestyles.
This seminar is offered in partnership with the Vintage House as part of the Integrative Medicine Program at Sonoma Valley Hospital. The free, Monday evening series is being offered to promote health and wellness in the community. Please contact Dr. Patricia Brooks at 707.935.5137 for further information.
