M. Joan Mills, 87, of Sonoma died in Petaluma on Feb. 17, 2009. Joan was the wife of the late Irving J. Mills and the mother of Susan Waldron of San Francisco. She was the dear sister of Irene Tuttle of Highland, California.
Joan was a volunteer for Valley of the Moon Hospice for many years. She was a 27-year resident of Sonoma and a native of Bridgeport, Connecticut.
No formal services will be held. Private cremation with scattering-at-sea services under the direction of Duggan’s Mission Chapel and Mission Cremation Service. Donations to Hospice by the Bay are preferred by the family.
Yolanda Macchello, 92, of Sonoma died Feb. 17, 2009 in Sonoma. Yolanda was the wife of the late Peter B. Macchello and the mother of Robert J. Ballestrasse and his wife Susie. She was the grandmother of four and great-grandmother of five.
She was a cosmetologist for eight years in San Francisco. She was a former member of the Italian-American Social Club in San Francisco. Yolanda was an eight-year resident of Sonoma and a native of Genoa, Italy.
No formal services will be held. Private inurnment at Cypress Lawn Cemetery in Colma under the direction of Duggan’s Mission Chapel.
