Boden Plumbing was recently recognized by the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors for complying with the Bay Area Green Business Program standards. To be certified “green,” participants must be in compliance with all regulations and meet program standards for conserving energy and water, preventing pollution, and minimizing waste.
Terry Boden, owner and CEO of Boden Plumbing, said that it is important for his company to be green. “We recycle old toilets, water heaters and scrap metal as well as all of our paper and cardboard,” said Boden. “We switched out all of our electrical to automatic on/off switches and low wattage lighting. We schedule our truck routing efficiently and always encourage customers to purchase low flow toilets.”
Boden Plumbing is also accredited with Green Plumbers USA, an innovative, national training and accreditation program that assists plumbers in understanding their role in the environment and public health.
“Being green isn’t hard,” said Boden. “It takes a little work but mostly, it’s about changing your mindset.”
