Swimmers, mark your calendars: Sonoma County Regional Parks announces the opening of swim season at the Spring Lake Regional Park swim lagoon in Santa Rosa. The swim lagoon will be open daily beginning Saturday, May 26 through September 9 from 10 a.m. to 7:45 p.m., with lifeguards on duty.
To get to the lagoon, take Montgomery Drive east to Channel Drive. Turn right on Channel and then right again on Violetti Road. The park entrance is on the right. Day-use parking is $6/car. Annual parking passes are $55 for a family pass and $25 for seniors age 60 and over.
Spring Lake Park offers picnic and barbecue areas, overnight camping with disabled-accessible campsites, restrooms, individual and group picnic areas, and trails for hikers, bicyclists and equestrians. The concession stand, located at the lagoon, is open daily and offers food, beverages and boat rentals.
The Environmental Discovery Center of Sonoma County, open noon – 5 p.m. Wednesday though Sunday, is located just uphill from the lagoon. The lake is open for boating only and is patrolled by the lifeguard staff. Lifejackets must be worn at all times when on the lake. There are beach-accessible wheelchairs available for use at the swimming lagoon. Dogs on six-foot-long leashes are welcome at the park.
