The group of children and adults dressed in period clothing representative of Sonoma’s past won the Grand Prize at the July 4 downtown parade. The Sonoma/Petaluma State Historic Parks entry was voted the best entry of all and also was awarded first place in the Theme category, according to the nine judges who assessed the parade. Musical: 1st place Sonoma Valley Jazz Society; 2nd place The Little Fiddlers; 3rd place Children’s Medical Aid
Youth: 1st place North Bay Kung Fu Karate; 2nd place Sonoma Academy of Dance & Arts; 3rd place Sonoma Valley Youth Football and Cheer
Theme: 1st place Sonoma/Petaluma State Historic Parks; 2nd place Sonoma Native Sons of the Golden West; 3rd place Sonoma Community Center
Animals: 1st place Castagnasso Family; 2nd place Hot Diggity Dogs; 3rd place Hidden Creek Ranch
General: 1st place Grace Amari – Roller-Skating Statue of Liberty; 2nd place Sonoma Taekwondo; 3rd place Sonoma Wine Country Safari
