Talented Adele Harrison students recognized

“Dalia Sofia Caballero is an amazing person!” said Joy Andrus, Dalia’s Spanish Language Arts and Social Studies teacher. “Her tenacity and outlook on life will help her dreams to take flight.” Dalia’s dreams started to come true early on in life. She was born in Santa Rosa in 1994, to Rosario and Roberto Caballero, and has been living in Sonoma ever since. She attended Flowery Elementary School and developed her bilingual skills in the Dual Immersion Program. Into her middle school years, she has maintained straight-A record and, teachers say, her bilingual abilities are “unparalleled.” Dalia’s accomplishments are well-rounded. When she’s not studying, she plays volleyball for Adele Harrison and soccer in the Sonoma Youth Soccer Association. She likes art, playing with her dog, and spending time with friends.
Dalia’s teachers laud her positive attitude and her dedication to helping others, as well as her initiative and perseverance. Her dreams are not selfish; she says she wants to be a lawyer so she can represent people who can’t represent themselves.
Anthony Lucchesi, son of Darrick and Elizabeth Lucchesi of Sonoma, has attended Adele Harrison Middle School since seventh grade. His teachers describe him as an exceptional student and contributing member of the community. He is a budding writer, and has written his own sequel to the book The Kingdom Keepers, by Ridley Pearson. That done, he is working on a second. His talents have not gone unnoticed. He received an Honorable Mention award in the 2006-2007 Writing Faire.
Along with his creative pursuits, he maintains a 4.0 grade point average, he participates in recreational soccer and has been a Boy Scout. As if this weren’t enough, he also acts. He has worked with the Cinnabar Theater, Rougatabout Theater and in productions at St. Andrew Church. He will play the lead in Adele Harrison’s upcoming production of Hairspray. His teachers feel he is a role model, a hard worker and deserving the honor to be named Adele Harrison’s Student of the Year.
