Dragons 7-1 after beating El Molino

Behind six solid innings of work from sophomore left hander Ben Graff, the Sonoma Dragons continued to roll, winning their seventh game in eight tries, and their second straight win under the lights of Arnold Field.
Graff (3-1, 2-1 SCL) only allowed one earned run, a solo home run from Lions senior Tony DeMarco in the fourth inning.
If it weren’t for DeMarco, the Sonoma Dragons would have had a commanding victory over the Lions, as he had two home runs in the game and four RBIs, including a three-run homer in the seventh that gave the Lions some hope after being down 10-1.
Cory Riley made the final out of the game to halt the Lions run in the seventh inning.
The Dragons got offensive input from everyone in the order, top to bottom, as the runs came in bunches and put the Lions down early. It was the largest output of Dragons runs in a win since the 24-3 victory over Washington High of San Francisco in the first game of the season.
The Dragons will have next week off as Spring Break allows the Dragons to get some rest, but they will host a present day baseball rarity on Saturday, March 29. Eureka will come to town for a doubleheader with Sonoma, as the first game starts at noon, and the second game is slated for 3:00 p.m.
Devon McCauley (4-0, 3-0 SCL) is the projected starter for the first game, with Graff projected to start the second.
