Reports of teen carousing have police keeping a close watch on a popular West Sonoma hangout.
Sonoma police Sgt. Clint Shubel said Tuesday that the spot lies along the dirt path connecting lower Fourth Street West to the Safeway parking lot on West Napa
Street. He said neighbors have recently reported groups of young people using alcohol and other drugs in the area, as well as graffiti on local fences.
“It’s a hidden area, out of sight from most people, which is probably why the kids are going there,” Shubel said. “We’re going to be strongly monitoring that area.”
