Saying “the time has come for me to pass the torch,” Sonoma Valley Museum of Art co-founder Lia Transue announced her resignation as executive director Monday.
In an e-mail to the museum’s membership list, Transue cited her 10 years with the museum and eight years as executive director. While not listing a specific reason for the move, she said she would continue serving through Jan. 8, 2009 and help as much as possible with the transition.
She thanked supporters and staff “for working together to create what has become one of the great cultural experiences in Northern California. You should all be very proud of what has been accomplished here.”
Telephone calls to Transue had not yet been returned by press time.
Transue resigns from SVMA board
