Citing a “personal emergency,” Sonoma County Redevelopment Manager Boris Sztorch has resigned his post and will be moving to Southern California, Community Development Commission Director Kathleen Kane announced Monday.
Sztorch, a two-year commission veteran, is most familiar to Valley residents through his work on the Springs redevelopment Project along Highway 12. In an e-mail announcement sent Monday, Kane said Sztorch’s departure, coupled with the Sacramento relocation of Redevelopment Associate Vicki Sacksteder earlier this year, “leaves us with no Redevelopment staff at present.”
“I will be asking other CDC staff to help cover essential Redevelopment functions until we hire new staff,” Kane said. “I ask for your patience while the pace of non-essential tasks slows during this time.”
The commission will be actively seeking to fill both posts, Kane said, adding that while Sacksteder’s successor is expected to assume the role within a month, “the manager may not be in place until early next year.”
