Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009 is National Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery Awareness Day. To help raise awareness of the issues surrounding this worldwide problem, Soroptimist International Clubs of Sonoma, Marin, and Mendocino counties will host an event at the Finley Center in Santa Rosa.
The PBS Documentary “Sex Slaves” will be featured, followed by a panel discussion with law enforcement agencies and local organizations who are currently fighting the battle against human trafficking. The panel discussion will be moderated by Monique Lessan, a state licensed private investigator specializing in recovery of abducted children and runaways.
