The Valley of the Moon Water District Board of Directors’ agenda for its first regular meeting of the New Year includes a public hearing on proposed increases in customer charges, to be effective April 2009. The board also will elect new officers for the year.
Water conservation continues to be a key topic for the board, as it will consider restricting payment under the reimbursement agreement for the water conservation program with the Sonoma County Water Agency. The “Cash for Grass” program, which provides rebates to customers for removing lawns, will also be discussed in open session. A closed session is scheduled, as well, to allow the board to meet privately with its attorney concerning possible litigation.
The public meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at the district’s offices, located at 19039 Bay Street in El Verano.
