It’s not quite as fun as flying out to Washington D.C., but locals can find company while they witness history on Jan. 20 with the live broadcast of the inauguration.
The city is holding a “community viewing” of the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama
and Vice President-elect Joe Biden on Tuesday at the community meeting room. The official ceremonies will take place at noon (EST), which is 9 a.m. local time.
The community meeting room is located in the police department building, 177 First St. West. Doors will open at around 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 20. Everyone is welcome to join in this nonpartisan patriotic event.
