Local teens arrested for alleged rape

Two Sonoma Valley boys ages 16 and 15, were arrested on Sunday on suspicion of raping a 14-year-old girl, according to reports from the County Sheriff’s office. The victim and three teenage boys had been drinking wine at El Verano Elementary School after 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
Deputies stopped a vehicle at Verano Ave. and Riverside Dr. at 2:32 a.m. for suspected drunk driving. Three juvenile males, all Agua Caliente residents aged 16, 15, and 12, were in the vehicle, along with a 14-year-old girl, also a Sonoma Valley resident. The girl reportedly told deputies that she had been sexually assaulted by at least one of the boys in the car. She was transported to the Sonoma Valley Hospital where she was treated for heavy alcohol intoxication and later released.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Domestic Violence / Sexual Assault Unit were called out to investigate the incident. Reportedly, at least one of the boys sexually assaulted the girl before they left the campus. All of the involved parties know each other.
