North Bay techies will forsake the online social networking for a little face-to-face interaction at the “Live Wired” event tonight at 6 p.m. at El Dorado Kitchen, at the corner of West Spain Street and First Street West on the Plaza.
The event is the first organized by Wired Sonoma, recently founded by Christine Mason McCaull and Chip Roberson. They launched Wiredsonoma.com in January, a networking site for businesses, entrepreneurs, tech experts and digital artists in the Valley of the Moon. It currently has 94 people signed up to participate in online forums and receive updates.
Goals for the group include helping techies elsewhere around the Bay Area to know that Sonoma is a tech-savvy place and also to help the greater community become more tech savvy. The event on Tuesday will include brainstorming about what the group wants to accomplish. Sign up at Wiredsonoma.com before the event to RSVP.
