Agenda items specific to Sonoma and Sonoma Valley include: a hearing on the Montini Open Space Preserve Management Plan, which includes a proposed 1.8 mile trail connecting the east side of the Montini Preserve, at 5th Street West, with the city’s Overloook Trail; approving $400,000 to buy land in Boyes Hot Springs for the new Sonoma Valley Community Health Center; and a proposed four-parcel subdivision at 19515 8th Street East, to include a trailhead parking lot.

A discussion on a moratorium on new water connections tops an agenda that includes an update from the city engineer on a proposed ordinance allowing for waivers for the installation of new sidewalks. Additional topics: a program recognizing Green Business leaders, and a reorganization of city manager staff. As always, public comment is welcomed on all issues including those not on the agenda.

Planning Commission

The planning commission prepares, revises and implements the comprehensive long-term general plan for the physical development of the city and surrounding areas and also reviews various land use applications. The commission’s agendas are posted on the city Web site, sonomacity.org.
