Hospital foundation cuts big check

The Sonoma Valley Hospital Foundation presented the hospital with $62,828 to support Emergency Department upgrades.
The improvements for the department include a surgical fluoroscopic system to be utilized in the operating room as well as the emergency room for orthopedic needs; an emergency transport ventilator, especially needed for ventilating patients as they are moved to another department; a new digital tone remote radio system for communications with emergency medical responders en route to the hospital; and funding for technology to increase the speed with which emergency personnel can access and read an EKG.

Funding support from the foundation also came in the form of four new beds for the Intensive Care Unit, as the foundation continues with its goal of seeking to replace all of the antiquated beds in the hospital.
