Former Sonoma Fire Chief Mike Cahill shares a tribute to the late Al Mazza at Wednesday’s ceremony dedicating the fire station on First Street West in Mazza’s name. Current Chief Phillip Garcia, City Building Official Wayne Wirick and Mayor Steve Barbose also took part in the dedication of the facility that Mazza, as the fire chief for 23 years and two-term city council member, was instrumental in getting built. “We all sleep better at night thanks to Al Mazza,” said Garcia. The honor was planned before Mazza passed away last month at age 73.
