Hospital Foundation exec moving on

Mary Caletges has resigned as the executive director of the Sonoma Valley Hospital Foundation, effective mid-October, to take a career-advancing job in the Sonoma Valley wine industry.

Caletges was named director in February after serving as the organization’s Foundation Coordinator for two years.
“After long thought and careful consideration, I decided to accept a compelling career opportunity that best utilizes my background in human resources and returns me to my roots in the wine industry,” she told The Sun.

Caletges said she was proud of the foundation’s key accomplishments over the last few years, including the recent replacement of many of the hospital’s antiquated beds, the remodel of the Birthplace, the purchase of equipment for the emergency department, and support for mammography services for uninsured women.

“I am leaving with confidence that the foundation is in good shape and poised for growth,” she said. “The board of directors whom I have worked closely with, headed by Carolyn Stone, is an amazing group of people, and I will miss them all.”

Caletges said she will help with the search for a new director, and remain available to help that person in the new role. “I will stay connected as a volunteer at future fundraising events,” she added.

Founded in 1982, the foundation is the hospital’s chief fundraising arm, providing charitable support for equipment, services and programs.
