Expect higher PG&E bill this month

You wont be getting lumps of coal from PG&E this Christmas, but your gas bill will be higher.

Residential customers can expect their natural gas bill to be about eight percent higher this month than in December of last year, the utility said. Increases in charges for transmission, distribution, mandated social programs and a slight increase to natural gas prices are expected.

Natural gas costs can change quickly during the winter months depending on weather and market conditions. “We take steps to protect our customers from severe price spikes,” the company said in statement. “We pass the wholesale price of natural gas through to our customers without mark-up.”
