The Teens, Community, Action! after school class at Adele Harrison Middle School held a bake on Thursday afternoon, raising a whopping $145. The students are raising money that they will donate to Seeds of Learning, who is building a new school in El Salvador. The bake sale dough will be used to purchase school supplies for the new school.

Looking at the Picture, this sure isn’t anything like the Bake Sales we had as kids. Most of the products on the table look like they were bought retail.
Bake Sales used to represent family’s getting together, and baking for the good of the Sales. What money they made at the sale probably didn’t make up 2/3rds of the cost of the retail price.
Our society has gone so far commercial that home values seem to have been kicked to the local retailer to complete. When are we going to wake up and realize that the values that we are teaching to build something outside our country should begin with what we lean to build in our homes and communities.
I’m glad they are helping out schools in El Salvador, but when was he last time we taught our kids how to Bake, cook and clean?
What a wonderful idea coming from these children, God will be blessing them in each step of their life, they are helping the poorest children of this country without waiting for thanks or any kind of gratification. How beautiful is to be a child without any kind of prejudice and have a open heart and open hand to help other children like them.
