Sonoma Community Center celebrated Mary Ellen Pleasant as the 2014 Sonoma Valley Muse at Beltane Ranch October 11, and raised a net total of $123,000 in the process.
“We’ll put the money to use serving the residents of the Sonoma Valley,” said Toni Castrone, Executive Director at Sonoma Community Center. “These past few years we’ve raised money for capital improvements, and now that our building is in great shape, we are focused on our arts, cultural, and community service programs.”
The Center recently produced Sonoma’s Fourth of July Parade, its City Party in the Plaza, and an ongoing series of arts and cultural education and performances in its historic building. Next up on the Sonoma Community Center calendar is the community’s Dia de Los Muertos memorial altar; the free Thanksgiving Dinner at the Sonoma Memorial Veteran’s Building; the Winter Performance Series in Andrews Hall, and the Trashion Fashion Show next spring.
