Christie Albertson, with James Greninger and pilot Tom Morris, was the first winner in the Sonoma Stompers Fly-Over contest, from Vintage Aircraft and The Sonoma Sun. Christie rode in an open cockpit, vintage biplane over the baseball stadium on July 4 as part of the National Anthem ceremony.
“It was awesome! I love vintage aircraft, and getting a chance to fly in one is so special. I am a huge Warbird fan — I actually flew in the T-6 last year for my birthday so I was really excited to get to fly again with them. They are such a fun airport.”
As for the wide open view, “The weather was gorgeous. You really get to see everything not being in an enclosed cockpit.” There will a fly-over prize for all remaining Saturday home games. Enter to win at sonomasun.com.
