Weekend Preview: Bar Battle

Local mixologists will employ all the tricks of the trade in the 9th annual Sonoma Bar Battle, Saturday, October 10, 6 p.m., at the Sonoma Veterans Building.

With the title of “Sonoma’s Best Bartender” on the line, the cocktail throw-down challenges teams to concoct a drink using a just-revealed secret ingredient – like Iron Chef, but with booze, ice and teeny umbrellas. Meanwhile, guests sample the creations from participating bars and restaurants, and vote for “Best Booth” and “Best Fan Cocktail.”

With live music from Train Wreck Junction, it’s all to benefit the good works of The Native Sons of the Golden West Parlor #111 and the American Legion Jack London Post #489. $35 advance, $40 at the door. Ages 21 and older. Sonomabarbattle.com.
