The annual Scouting for Food drive for FISH (Friends in Sonoma Helping) will be held Saturday, November 14, when uniformed scouts collect donations at your doorstep between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. In advance of the pick-up, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts will distribute flyers onto hundreds of Valley doors. If you receive one, the Scouts ask that you demonstrate your generosity to those in need this holiday season by donating non-perishables such as canned goods, pasta, rice, and beans.

Place the food and flyer in a visible location on your doorstep or by the curb, and uniformed Scouts will come by on the 14th. Alternately, take your donations that Saturday to Fiesta Plaza, at the corner of Highway 12 and Siesta Way, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. where volunteers will help unload. All donations go directly to FISH to help stock Christmas baskets for Sonoma Valley needy.

For information on joining Boy Scouting in Sonoma Valley, adults or youth alike, contact the Redwood Empire Boy Scout Council at 546.8137. For more information about the FISH Christmas basket program, call 996.0111.
