The weekend is here! Don’t let the weekend rains deter you from a good time!

Here are my weekend warrior picks for this weekend.

Friday, March 11

Go have a nice fancy dinner – at a nice price – with the help of Sonoma County Restaurant Week.

Check out our list of the many Sonoma Valley restaurants participating – from lunch to dinner, you can get a three course meal for as little as $19 and as high as $39. This is a great reason to get out of the house and see what offerings our local restaurants have for you to try – and perhaps you’ll find a new favorite spot!

Restaurant week runs until Sunday!

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day early with Meadowcroft Wines.

Taking place at their Carneros-based winery, you can avoid green beer and enjoy a high end taste of Irish cuisine with the winery’s house chef – Darby Tarantino.

She is Meadowcroft’s multitasker – Director of Tasting Room Operations and their culinary coordinator.

Chef Tarantino gained her cooking chops from the Ballymaloe Cookery School, owned by Irish celebrity chef and slow food innovator Darina Allen.

The multi-course luncheon starts with a spring salad with organic greens, shaved fennel, sweet peas and citrus spearmint vinaigrette. Next is the jackpot at the end of the rainbow (I had to say it…): Classic Steak and Guinness Pie with Salted Black Truffle Crust. Dinner is served with traditional Irish soda bread and dessert will be Ballymaloe Irish Coffee Meringue with Whiskey Cream and Chocolate Covered Beans.

Oh, and there will be wine.

Sounds good to me. Tickets are $65 for wine club and $75 for the rest of us – 12 PM. Learn more here.
