On the front lines

Posted on April 15, 2021 by Sonoma Valley Sun

April is National Volunteer Month, but every day at Sonoma Valley’s many nonprofits – like this recent lunch effort at Vintage House – is made possible by volunteer help.

Here, Volunteer Coordinator Denise Wilbanks, at left, and Theresa Deeths, Programs Coordinator, join Katie DeJongh, Violet Wheeler, Debbie Pryor, and Kathleen Gray to distribute free meals curbside to seniors. “Volunteers help make this program happen,” Wilbanks says, “from the chefs who donate ingredients and cook the food, to local farmers who bring fresh produce to give away with the meals, to volunteers who help package and distribute almost 400 servings each week.”
