Tuesday Night Market gets jazzy

Sonoma’s Tuesday Night Market has a something really fresh on June 14 — a live jazz concert, with the Michael O’Neill Sextet featuring vocalist Tony Lindsay, led singer of Santana for 25 years.

The 6 p.m. show is free in the Sonoma Plaza Amphitheater, adjacent to the market booths.

Jazz vet O’Neil, on saxophone, is a former student of Joe Henderson. The band will be playing Latin arrangements of tunes by Michael Jackson, Stevie wonder, Al Jarreau, Bill Withers, and some standards. The arrangements were done by all of the members of the band.

The next Tuesday jazz night presented by the Sonoma Valley Jazz Society is July 12, with vocalist Jackie Ryan.
