Sun on the Street: Name your tune

If you could have one performer sing a song for you, who would it be?

It’s a band called Revolution. It’s a specific simple song from when I started college called “Safe and Sound”. It made me who I am today as far as the music I Iisten to and my attitude. I am more mellow.

Rick, Sonoma

Ricky Martin singing “La Vida Loca”. I really like him and love that song.

Luni, Sonoma

I like Luis Miguel. He is a hero around the world. Lovely, nice guy. I like him so much. I like his song “El Reloj” (The Clock). “Clock, stop going. Because my life fades.”

Francisco, Sonoma

Selena Quintanilla and the song would be “Como La Flor”. She was a legendary singer. She was not during my time but I wish I would have been there to be in her presence, to be a part of her legend. She still represents a lot of Latina women. She’s an inspiration.

Maricela, Sonoma

It would be Matty Healy from the band, The 1975. Pretty much any song from this self-titled album as it means a lot to me and has impacted me. It is nostalgic (a big part of it) and brings back the good and the sad times… just life. It came out at an important time.

Eric Molyneaux, Petaluma

My answer is John Denver singing “Thank God I’m A Country Boy” or “Sunshine On My Shoulders” or “Rocky Mountain High” or “Take Me Home Country Roads”. There’s a lot of adventure in country music and I know the value of adventure. It’s a part of my life. The music has inspired me to surround myself with a vintage country and rustic charm. This whole town is full of both.
