Culinary pioneer Chuck Williams visited The Sonoma League for Historic Preservation last week, sharing memories of Sonoma and how his career evolved from carpenter to hardware store owner to founder of Williams-Sonoma. League member Micaelia Randolph said Williams shared, “the origins of the famous white porcelain cow creamer, and his discovery in Europe of balsamic vinegar – he originally thought it was perfume. Chuck said he fell in love with Sonoma at first sight and still has a soft place in his heart for our beloved town.” More than 120 people attended the event in the Maysonnave Garden on Sept. 17.
