Sonoma gets a peek at new EV sportscar

An all-electric sports car called the Mullen GT had an open-house preview at Sonoma Raceway, part of a 13-city tour showing off the distinctively styled EV.

With its super-light carbon fiber construction, the car is capable of reaching 0-to-60 MPH in 4.2 seconds. The startup company claims that deliveries of this 400-hp, $150,000 sports car will start in the U.S. in late 2025 or 2026, according to Car and Driver

Featuring Mullen’s exclusive Rechargeable Energy Storage System, the GT has an NEDC range exceeding 230 miles. With a uniform speed, range can reach over 310 miles, the company said.

Vehicles on display October 23-24 were the Mullen FIVE EV Crossover, Mullen ONE Class 1 EV Cargo Van and Mullen THREE Class 3 EV Truck.

One unique feature is AI-powered PERSONA, Mullen’s proprietary facial recognition technology, which personalizes the overall vehicle experience. PERSONA was first consumer tested on the Mullen FIVE EV Crossover during the 2022 “Strikingly Different” U.S. Tour.

“After the incredible success we had last year with the tour, we obviously had to make it bigger this year by covering more stops and featuring more vehicles,” said David Michery, CEO and chairman of Mullen Automotive.
