Live from Israel: Sonoma’s Dr. Ofer Zur to report via Zoom

Psychologist Ofer Zur, PhD, is traveling in Israel and the West Bank and will do a LIVE Zoom broadcast for the Praxis Peace Institute from one of the cities he will be visiting on August 16th.

In the West Bank, his guide will be Palestinian Mohammad Hussam Jubran, an Interfaith Peacebuilding tour guide. Ofer will also meet with the Refusinics, a controversial group in Israel on Breaking the Silence.

Yesterday, he delivered an apology (sent by paper airplane over the fence to Gaza) for his role in the Israeli army when he was a young soldier there. It was that experience that led to his leaving Israel for the U.S. He will be in some dangerous zones during his ten-day tour, but he is committed to report on what he sees and what he hears from people in the region. Of course, the threat from an expanded war is front and center with both Lebanon and Iran in the picture now. Don’t miss this on-the-ground reporting and analysis!

Ofer Zur, PhD, a resident of Sonoma, is a licensed psychologist, fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA), lecturer, ethics consultant, and forensic expert. He was founder and director of the Zur Institute, which offers over 180 online continuing education courses for mental health practitioners. He also has been practicing psychotherapy in California for over 25 years. He is one of the top experts in the field of psychological ethics, applying a non-dogmatic approach to multiple relationships and therapeutic boundaries. Some of Ofer’s areas of expertise are very important in our discussion today.
