A memorial bench for Sonoma teen David Yenni was dedicated on Saturday by Boy Scouts of Troops 16 and 222. Following a regular bike path clean-up, the scouts and leaders read tributes to Yenni, a long time member of Troop 16. Scoutmaster Ken Perry read a segment from a paper written by Yenni while a fifth-grader at Prestwood School. The passage said, “The more man meditates on good thoughts, the better will be his world and the world at large. I think this sentence means always look on the bright side, think positive and don’t say something you might regret. Confucius was trying to teach that what goes around, comes around in life. My real life experience with this saying is through Boy Scouts. Their motto is ‘do a good turn daily.’ This saying reminds me to think about what I am going to do before doing it.” Yenni was killed in a grain loading accident in August 2009.
