One of Sonoma’s best-recognized personalities was mugged sometime
Tuesday night.
Trixie, the mannequin who sits inside the ticket booth at the
Sebastiani Theatre and smiles silently at all passerby, was knocked around by someone who smashed in a panel of the ticket booth’s doorand made off with an antique phone, photos and other bric-a-brac ondisplay.
“It’s very sad. Because this is not the kind of town in which these things happen,” said Carolyn Barbulesco, the theater’s assistant manager.
Barbulesco discovered the vandalism Wednesday morning.
“I got here this morning and her glasses were askew,” she said.
“The whole upper (door) panel was bashed in.”
Trixie has been ensconced inside the booth for “oh, forever,”
Barbulesco said, and is very well-known.
“She’s been in the New York Times. Her photograph’s been everywhere,”
The Tuesday night attack isn’t the first misfortune to befall the
mannequin – her relationship with a police department dummy didn’t work out.
“That ended and she doesn’t talk about it, anymore,” Barbulesco said.
